The Golden Compass coming!
YouTube has the trailer for the Golden Compass which is due for release later this year. What is the Golden Compass? The first book of a trilogy that other than the Lord of the Rings, tops anything I have read. Why does it top anything I have read? For all the years riding the commuter rail into Boston and back, there has only been two times where I was so engrossed into my book that I nearly missed getting off at my stop. Both times, I was reading the Golden Compass. And if you have read much of what I have written here and elsewhere, you know I read a lot. I can't wait to see it. The trailer is a good teaser! Phil, this will be one of those cases where you hope the movie will be like the book.
From the casting thus far, it seems like it will be. Nicole Kidman in the role of Mrs. Coulter should be great; a good mix of beauty and deceit.
But good movie or not, step inside the pages of the book and you won't regret it.
